At the salon, we don’t take tips. Tips are outdated. Tips are like a performance review that we didn’t ask for.

So how do we do it at the salon? We charged by the hour. We quote you an exact price when we know what you want to get. The commission structure is consistent. And the stylist are in charge of their pricing.

This was never what I dreamed of. I had a whole other vision for my life. Hairdresser wasn’t in it.

And yet here I am — 27 years in — sitting across from a client in a consultation I take more seriously than almost anything else. Listening. Really listening. Before a single scissor touches a single curl.

I don’t know exactly when this work became my calling. But somewhere along the way it did. Quietly. Fully. In a way I didn’t expect and couldn’t have planned for.

Now I own a salon built entirely around the things I believe in. 💛

Welcome to my Emmy nominated TV debut. 📺

I was cast as a hairdresser in a scene on American Crime — ABC drama starring Felicity Huffman — filmed right here in Austin TX.

My character had just done her hair. She hated it. It was fluffy. The panic was real. And relatable. 😬✂️

The fun part? I actually am a hairdresser. Art imitated life in the most specific way possible. 😂💛

The even better part? The panicked version of me in that scene has been replaced by someone who did the work.
