There are over 1.5 million acres of BLM land in New Mexico. If anyone is of the mindset that we need to allow these solar fields to keep being built here, then I say let the state lease them their land. These solar fields and battery storage facilities do not need to be built at the back door of residential communutirs. Chaves County zoning does everything they can to prevent private land owners from using their own land for their own purposes. But yet, they fall at the feet of companies like this who want to destroy the natural habitat simply because they are promising jobs and financial kickbacks. Those of us living near this proposed build site absolutely reject this. We don’t want it here. Please don’t fall prey to their promises. Pay attention. Nobody and I mean NOBODY is promising you anything for free. They intend to make millions or they wouldn’t be planning this project. Your taxes will go up!! That’s part of the revenue they say they will create. That’s not creating anything, that is taking YOUR money!!!! For their gain. Our property values will go down. Nobody wants to look out their window and see a solar field instead of deer, antelope, fox, and birds.
