The current 0Z GFS forecast suggests the possibility of a significant winter storm around February 12th, and surprisingly, there may be more to come.

The upcoming weather pattern appears extremely unusual. From February 10th to at least February 20th, and potentially beyond, we could experience an extended period of cold Arctic air and frequent storm activity.

This could result in numerous winter weather events, rather than just a single occurrence. Residents in various states such as Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kentucky, the Carolinas, Virginia, as well as areas across the Southern Plains, Ohio Valley, Mississippi Valley, and Tennessee Valley, should prepare for what might become an unprecedented period of winter weather in the next few weeks.

Expect heavy snow, ice, sleet, and even thunderstorms towards the southern regions - depending on the path of these systems. This weather setup is uncommon, unstable, and full of possibilities.
