Holiday Meat Is Here! Pastured Pork and Rotationally Grazed Lamb

Wonderful to have the opportunity to visit Eastern Market today and introduce new friends Brad and Lauren who have worked so hard in supporting Farmers Rising to one of the most exciting local food markets in the midwest. Bought a load of fresh chiltepin and diente de perro chiles from Rufino at Ortega Urban Farms Vegetales Y Hierbas De México en Detroit Michigan -- and got pics with the man himself in front of his mural! Rufino is a leading farmer in Detroit's urban agriculture movement and has a heart of gold. We also visited with our friends at Country Valley Farm, Lake Divide Farm, and Hampshire Farm to buy incredible organic veggies and beans.

Turns out our MiniClassic turkeys love to eat mulberry leaves, they just didn’t know about them until I started trimming some branches and dropping them nearby. They actually preferred the leaves to the slightly underripe grapes coming in!
