Proper Way Academy

A few days ago I was honored to share my knowledge with a group of International Students from Panama at the University of Arkansas.

The Special Office Programs creates opportunities for these students to achieve college success and I was able to share some tips on how to act on a business lunch or function.

The Office of Special Programs works to prepare sponsored international students for college success. Their goal is to train scholars in academic readiness, English as a second language, college-ready math and science skills, confidence building and leadership skills.They are the link between students, sponsor and the university academic community.

Thank you again University of Arkansas PAPSS Program for the opportunity. It was a delightful afternoon!

Waiter or Server?

Modern etiquette suggest to call them servers since they are not there simply waiting on us.

Never be rude to them. They are there to help you and even though they are being paid to do their job, they deserve our respect.
If you need them, avoid snapping, clapping or aggressively waving.
Instead, try making eye contact or raising your fingers slightly above your shoulder.

Remember to always say the magic words: Please and Thank-You and look them in the eye while they are taking your order.

After a busy summer moving houses 🏠 and having family visiting for a few weeks, it feels great going back to what I love to do. ☺️

I was super excited to start teaching again with these amazing group of sweet girls. We talked about the importance of always showing good manners and etiquette rules to help them become more confident in their lives.

Lots of laughs 😆 and yummy food 🍰 helped to practice social and table etiquette rules.

These girls rocked !!! 🤘🏻 It was a joy to have them.🤗

Want to avoid the lip ring (from lipstick 💋or natural oils from your mouth) and fingerprints 🖐🏼 all over the glass? 🍷🥃🥛

Drink from the same point of the glass every single time and hold it at the bottom keeping your fingers together all the time.
