Are you already trained to work with Primitive & Developmental Reflexes and interested in further developing your skills working in a somatic and advanced trauma informed manner?
Or maybe you are a bodyworker or medical provider who has patients with retained or hyperactive reflexes, which can show up in ways that negatively affect their nervous system regulation or musculoskeletal tension patterns that are not responding to traditional therapies?
These skills can be applied to clients of all ages ranging from children to adults.
If any of this speaks to you, please consider joining the next Alchemical Somatic Reflex class that I am teaching in Portland, Oregon June 10-14, 2026.
I would love to see you there!

>>Somatics is the study and practice of the living body—the soma—as an integrated process of body, mind, and consciousness. It recognizes the body not as a fixed, mechanical structure but as a dynamic, self-organizing system that continually reshapes itself through experience. Rooted in awareness of physical sensation, somatics provides a framework for understanding how our internal and external worlds interact and how life, in its fullest expression, can be lived through the body.
Somatics invites us to cultivate a conscious relationship with the body’s innate intelligence—a wisdom that holds our history, adapts to our environment, and carries our potential for growth and transformation. The body is formative; it shapes itself in response to life’s demands and can reshape itself through intentional awareness. Somatics is the means through which we reclaim self-agency, bridging the disconnection often caused by trauma, cultural conditioning, or habitual patterns of tension and dissociation.
By tuning into the subtle language of the body—sensations like tension, expansion, pulsation, or flow—we begin to perceive the body as an ongoing conversation between the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of our being. Somatics offers tools to track, process, and integrate these lived experiences, allowing us to uncover and reanimate what has been fragmented, suppressed, or disowned. Through practices of awareness, movement, and sensing, we create the conditions for greater regulation, adaptability, and vitality in our lives.
Somatics is not merely a modality; it is a way of understanding the human condition. It challenges the Cartesian separation of mind and body, restoring the body as the gateway to a deeper, more embodied experience of life. It reminds us that trauma is not simply an event in the past but a pattern held in the body—a pattern that can be reorganized. Somatics teaches us that freedom and presence arise when we inhabit ourselves fully, moment by moment, in a conscious and attuned way.
Ultimately, somatics is about reconnecting to aliveness—the life energy that animates us and gives rise to creativity, expression, and connection. It is both a scientific and experiential exploration of being human, where ancient wisdom meets modern understanding. By reclaiming the body as central to our healing and growth, somatics empowers us to live in a state of greater authenticity, agency, and relational harmony with ourselves and the world around us.
