Currently in Rockledge, Florida, BCLA was established in 1970 by the Brevard County Bar Association. Since then, we have grown to include a network of over 400 attorneys who volunteer their time to help low-income persons achieve meaningful access to the civil court system. The Legal Assistance project was in part funded with the assistance of the City of Palm Bay through federal Community Development Block Grant funds made available by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development under Title 1 of the Federal Housing and Community Development Act. as amended.

Brevard County Legal Aid's own Valeta Cameron is one of 12 finalists for the very prestigious Lead Brevard "4 Under 40" Awards! The group was selected from a large pool of nominees representing a cross-section of young professionals working in Brevard's businesses, public, and nonprofit sectors. All finalists will be featured during the event on Friday, February 8th and four winners will be revealed.

LEAD Brevard’s signature fundraiser; the Leadership Awards will feature the Top 12 Finalists on Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Space Coast Convention Center. The ‘4 Under 40’ will be revealed at the event that evening.
