I'm having a rough time transitioning from Halloween to NOVEMBER. For all those who need one more spooky fix--check out this party in Belvidere over the weekend. Michael Myers didn't reveal himself until the end of the night--people weren't sure who he was until then. The host of the party says this is the first time someone has gone all out in a performance like this at her events.

UPDATE: I spoke with the former owner of the storage units, Adrian Vasquez. He still owns one unit, and can't see the damages as crews continue working on scene. He says he's worried about equipment inside for his salon business "Totally You Hair Salon" located in Loves Park.

DEVELOPING: Rockford fire crews are looking into what caused flames to spark in a storage unit overnight on North Central Avenue. About 24 units are damaged from flames spreading. It took crews about two hours to control the blaze, one firefighter hospitalized in the aftermath, he's expected to be ok. An arson investigator tells me on scene he's still looking into the cause, but overall in his experience fires in these types of facilities are not fairly common, but he encourages people to keep items in units as organized as possible to avoid something from sparking.
