RIT Ambulance joins in mourning the loss of those who died in the 9/11 terror attacks 24 years ago today. Thank you to everyone participating in the event today.

RITA is proud to announce that we received three awards at the NCEMSF conference in February.

1. MERIT Award: The Modeling Excellence in Response, Innovation, and Training (MERIT) award is designed to recognize collegiate EMS organizations that adhere to the highest standards of operational excellence, clinical care, training, safety, and community engagement.

2. EMS Ready Campus Award: This award is designed to recognize excellence in emergency management and disaster preparedness of collegiate EMS organizations.

3. Heart Safe Campus Award: This is awarded to campuses who promote community awareness of the potential for saving the lives of sudden cardiac arrest victims through the use of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and increased public access to defibrillation.

January’s Member of the Month is Valerie Tennyson! Valerie joined the agency this past fall. She has put in considerable time towards her training as a medic trainee and has made remarkable progress. Keep the great work Valerie!

November’s Member of the Month is Rafael Rutigliano! Rafael joined the agency this past fall as a Driver Trainee. He has put a lot of time into RITA this month and made remarkable progress in his training. Congratulations and keep up the great work!

October’s Member of the Month is Adam Koch. Adam is a Driver Trainer and a newly cleared Medic Apprentice. He has spent a lot of time this month taking calls and training our new members. He has held many leadership positions throughout the years including President and Deputy Chief. Congratulations Adam!
