The Community Foundation Men's Fund has shifted its focus to supporting youth by removing financial barriers to team sports participation.
In addition to financial support, equipment and uniforms are often a prohibitive cost for families just making ends meet. If you have sports equipment that you're no longer using, you can help alleviate this burden for kids who want to participate in sports programs!
Donate your gently used and no longer needed sports equipment to the Leveling the Playing Field, Inc. bin at RARA Recreation and help remove barriers to youth sports participation. Everyone should be able to play. Let's help fill the bin!

🚨 BREAKING: Satellite imagery over Michigan is reportedly showing something absolutely unreal happening where Great Lakes, inland lakes, rivers, wetlands, forests, and shorelines all collide across the Great Lakes State.
From space, Michigan suddenly looks less like a state and more like a giant freshwater kingdom surrounded by glowing blue water on nearly every side.
The wild part?
This isn't some fake weather map or random visual effect.
This is Michigan's lakes, rivers, wetlands, bays, and watershed systems constantly reshaping the landscape in real time.
As storms sweep across Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, and Lake Erie, rivers swell, streams surge, wetlands fill, and water flows through thousands of interconnected waterways across both peninsulas.
From above, giant glowing ribbons of blue water twist across the state like Michigan unlocked "freshwater mode."
And somehow the scale feels enormous.
From the rugged shoreline of Lake Superior...
through the forests and rivers of the Upper Peninsula...
past the Straits of Mackinac...
down through Traverse City, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Ann Arbor, and Detroit...
all the way to the beaches, bays, and wetlands along the Great Lakes...
Michigan starts looking less like roads and cities and more like one massive living freshwater ecosystem.
And wildlife reacts to it too.
Fish
Bald eagles
Deer
Beavers
Otters
Waterfowl
Turtles
Entire wetland ecosystems
all depend on the constant movement of water through Michigan's lakes, rivers, marshes, and forests.
Basically: Michigan becomes one giant moving ecosystem powered by freshwater, forests, wetlands, rivers, storms, and pure Great Lakes magic.
People driving through Michigan see small towns, farms, forests, beaches, bridges, and highways.
But from space?
Michigan looks like somebody connected thousands of lakes and four Great Lakes into one massive glowing blue superhighway.
Michigan really said:
"Beautiful shoreline on the surface... absolute freshwater madness underneath."

URGENT 🚨🎆 !!
A Hard Truth We Need to Share…
This isn’t just another fundraising post and it’s a very hard for us to share this news
We are very behind in fundraising goals. And If we don’t reach our fundraising goal our yearly fireworks 🧨 event will likely no longer happen. 😢
Not because anyone wants that.
Not because the committee isn’t trying.
Not because people don’t love the tradition…
Simply because fireworks cost money, and without donations, the math doesn’t work.
We completely understand that priorities may have changed but every summer, thousands of people gather to watch the show. Families make memories. Friends fill the shoreline. Kids look up in awe.
But of those thousands of people who enjoy the fireworks, LESS than 1% of the community / viewers actually donate to keep them going.
There is good news!!
If just 2,000 families/households donated $20, we’d reach our goal!!
Just $20 that’s all we ask!
Can you help?
✅ Donate using the link below
✅ Share this post with 5 friends, neighbors, or family members
Every dollar matters. Every share matters.
Let’s make sure this year’s fireworks aren’t remembered as the last ones.
Thank you to everyone who has already donated. We appreciate you more than you know. ❤️
