I just found these photos of my early ceramic work on a CD in a long, unopened storage box. I began my ceramic journey in 2003. One year later, I began experimenting with altering the forms I was making. Throwing them, bottomless, on the wheel. This made them easy to alter. After altering the shape, I would use a slab of clay to create the bottom for the altered shape.
I also began experimenting with surface decoration. I used a mouth sprayer (atomizer) to apply the studio glazes, underglazes and wax resist (yes, I would also spray wax resist).
I have no clue where this piece ended up as I would sell my work at Brooklyn stoop sales in front of my home or offer them as gifts to family and friends.
This piece was one of my favorites.
