It’s that time of year again! These harmless gnat bites normally resolve in 24–48 hours with no treatment needed. If your dog DOES seem bothered by them, or they do not resolve after 48 hours, then give us a call at 248.650.5900!

As this is a common occurrence in Southeastern Michigan this time of year, we're reposting this message in case your beloved canine develops these red spots in the next few weeks. (Note: these pests seem to be a little early this year):
It's that time of year when you might see these round, red and raised spots on your dog's belly/groin area. Though they look concerning they are actually harmless bites from a gnat which appears early May and disappears in early June. The marks typically resolve within 24-48 hours, don't bother the dog and require no treatment. If after 48 hours they don't resolve or if your dog seems bothered, please call us at 248-650-5900 to schedule an exam with one of our wonderful doctors😊 Happy Spring!
