Rochester Pollinators is a resource for anyone who wants to know how they can help save the Monarch butterfly, pollinators (bees, dragonflies, and more), and birds through planting Michigan native plants, shrubs, and trees.

The Oakland Press featured Rochester Pollinators in "Mission for Monarchs" — celebrating Rochester's FOURTH consecutive year as a Monarch Champion City, recognized by the National Wildlife Federation!

Rochester is the only Michigan community — and one of just eight cities nationwide — to earn this honor for its commitment to monarch conservation and native habitat restoration.

What started in 2019 as one person's concern over disappearing monarchs has grown into a true grassroots movement. Huge thanks to our founder Marilyn Trent, our incredible volunteers, and the City of Rochester, Michigan - Government for making this possible.

Grassroots movement helps Rochester earn butterfly recognition According to the NWF, Rochester is currently the only Michigan community to earn the distinction and one of just eight communities nationwide to achieve Monarch Champion status in 2025.

Join us at the Troy Garden Walk! Wednesday, July 8, 9 am - 6 pm. This year's Garden Walk starts and ends at the Troy Historic Village, where you can stroll through and check out all the vendors along the way. Look for Rochester Pollinators! We'll be there to talk about the amazing benefits of pollinator plants, hand out free milkweed, and have some fun swag for sale — all to help spread the word about protecting our pollinators.
