This fall, Rochester Deaf Kitchen is partnering with the American School for the Deaf to open Hartford Deaf Kitchen - our second Deaf-led food pantry.

What started in Rochester is growing, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone that has believed in what we’re doing.

This partnership means more Deaf individuals and families will have access to food in a space where communication comes first and everyone belongs.

We’re looking forward to sharing more over the coming months as we get closer to our Fall 2026 opening. Thank you for being part of this journey with us - we can’t wait to welcome you to Hartford.

We've been getting so many questions about the Deaf Community Farm:

Where is it? How does it work? How can I join? Check out this video to see what Alaine and some wonderful volunteers has been doing to prepare the farm for our community. Whether you're interested in taking classes, exploring the space, or simply enjoying access to plants and nature, there's something here for you.

In this video, Alaine shares what we'll be doing every Saturday from 10 AM–12 PM throughout the summer, at 2449 St Paul Blvd, in Rochester, NY! You can contact Alaine to register for any Saturday class through the summer at [email protected].

Whether you're a beginner with an aspiring green thumb or an experienced gardener, we invite you to come grow with us. Bring a friend, learn something new, and help us build community through gardening!

A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who joined us today! We officially installed permanent fencing at our Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) site. This is an exciting step forward for the Deaf Community Farm.

We’re looking forward to sharing more about this new site, for the Deaf Community farm and the impact this space will have for the Deaf community and food accessibility in Rochester. Stay tuned!
