As the Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative celebrates Le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Q***r, and Intersex (LGBTQI+) Pride Month, we renew our vow to fight for equality for all members of our community.

We know that people who identify as le***an, gay, bisexual, or transgender have higher rates of poverty compared to cisgender (cis) heterosexual people, and those rates are even higher for women and people of color. As a community, we must ALL work toward economic and societal equality to ensure that all individuals and families have the same opportunity for upward mobility.

Challenges in child care High costs, a declining industry and pandemic-driven losses at providers make it tough for many Monroe County residents to find services they can access and afford.
