Guys, we always strive to use universal precautions in our office every day and to treat every patient in the cleanest most efficient manor possible. We value you our patients and our staff as family members and strive to make everyone feel like that each visit and each day at the office. We have been treating everyone as if they are infected with something since our first day. Does that mean we think you are, no! It means that it is the safest way to practice for everyone involved, from our staff to you as our extended family. As one of my colleagues pointed out, he puts his seatbelt on faithfully every day and thankfully he has never needed it. I feel we have done the same in our practice. We as an office feel as though we are treating you still in a safe environment. However, the state has decided otherwise. The governor or this great commonwealth believes it best to cease ALL dental treatment from routine care up to and including emergency treatment. Our plan was to stay open for dental emergencies and no elective dental procedures and to treat each case with the utmost of universal precautions. We even scheduled our emergency appointments to limit one patient in the office at a time and allow time for us to completely wipe down the entire office before the next patient. This still is not enough. We are no longer allowed to take care of our community. Instead, we are to refer ALL emergencies to the hospital. I feel this is going to place unnecessary burden on the hospitals that are already short on personal protective equipment and time. However, this is my only option to treat you at this time.

If you are experiencing dental pain, sensitivity, or swelling, please contact me directly at 814 381-5646 and I will help you as much as possible. Please understand it is my desire to treat each of you any time you have any discomfort or dental issues.

Hopefully, this commonwealth will reverse this decision and understand the benefit we as the dental community can provide to lessen the burden on the hospitals in this time of need. I pray for each of you to stay healthy, to enjoy your time with your family, and to appreciate what we were all blessed with in this life.
