A new chapter begins for Augusta County.

We gathered with community leaders, elected officials, project partners, and citizens to celebrate the new August County Courthouse.

We partnered with the community to build a modern facility that will serve the county for generations to come. It was built to enhance public safety while reflecting the character and values of the community it serves.

Congratulations to Augusta County and everyone who played a role in bringing this vision to life.

Congratulations to the VDOT J98 Popes Head Road project team on the successful opening of the new Popes Head Road interchange. This milestone removes what was widely considered the longest traffic signal in Virginia, delivering a significant improvement for the traveling public and the surrounding community.

To meet the June 2 opening date, the project team worked around the clock utilizing a detour of Popes Head Road which began on May 27, to complete critical roadway tie-ins and remaining construction activities. Their dedication, coordination, and commitment to excellence made this achievement possible.

This accomplishment represents a major success for Branch, VDOT, and the community we serve. We extend our sincere appreciation to our Branch employee-owners whose hard work, professionalism, and perseverance helped bring this important milestone to completion. Congratulations to everyone involved on a job well done.

Progress continues along the I-81 corridor in Weyers Cave (Augusta County) in Virginia. We’re advancing critical infrastructure improvements that will enhance safety, traffic flow, and long-term reliability along one of the East Coast’s most important freight and travel corridors.

This work will play a vital role in supporting commerce, regional connectivity, and improve the experience of the thousands of drivers who rely on the corridor every day.

In Forsyth County, North Carolina, construction is underway along NC 65 in Rural Hall to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

Our Branch teams will widen the roadway and add new sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, traffic signals, and underground utilities.

You'll continue to see changes throughout the summer as grading begins and we make progress.
