Divine 9 Tribute continues! 💞💚
Shauna Paddyfote salutes Beulah Dabney, Beta Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, INC. !💞💚

Beulah C. Dabney received her bachelor's degree from St. Paul's Technical Institute (now St. Paul's College) in Lawrenceville, VA. Later, she was initiated into the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ® Beta Chi Omega Chapter where she has been a member for 45 years. She joined Beta Chi Omega because she knew in her heart that she wanted to be a part of this organization. They were about serving the community, which is something that she always loved to do.

Mrs. Dabney devoted her whole life to serving others, especially through her years as an educator and counselor. She began her career as a Social Studies teacher at Addison High School. She then transitioned to Jefferson High School as a home school counselor, where she participated in a project to work with students who stayed out of school. Her charge was to help them get back to school and graduate. As the years passed, she shared her counseling experience with the Round Hill and Northwest Elementary Schools before retiring as a guidance counselor for William Fleming High School. She took early retirement in 1989; however, she continued to work as a night school counselor for 16 years. She then decided it was time for full retirement so that she could enjoy life without work.

In parallel with her career, she always leveraged her talents to support others. She served on the Board of Directors for the YWCA and the Children's Home Society. Also, as a member of High Street Baptist Church, she sang with the Sanctuary Choir, ushered and served as the Assistant Clerk for many years.

As a retiree, Mrs. Dabney continues to support her beloved Beta Chi Omega Chapter. She also loves to read and travel. She has visited eight countries in Europe, Mexico and multiple states in the U.S., including Hawaii. She also enjoys playing Pinochle with her dear friends. One of her favorite past times was dancing with her husband before he passed away. "Even at fancy dinners, he would be the first one to hit the floor," she said. "We always loved to dance and had great times."

Mrs. Dabney shared the following words with the young ladies of the Elle Academy, "No matter what happens in your life, continue to believe in yourself and never give up on pursuing your dream. Always remember to treat other people the way you want them to treat you. I wish you much success."
