👎 Lying:
Telling half truths is a full lie. Lying about who you are with, what you are doing and convincing yourself it's harmless is only fooling you.

👎 Planning around your next escape:
Whatever it is, it steals life from you. You become consumed scheduling your next hit of numbness.

👎 Under the influence you, has become the only version of you that you know:
Being messed up makes you feel buzzed, funny, and alive. Straightened arrow you feels anxious, awkward, and ashamed.

👎 You find every reason to "numb" and every excuse to not make change.

Depression isn't always about isolating oneself in a dark room or uncontrollable tears when no one is around.

Sometimes it looks like getting up, getting out, showing up and even cracking jokes and laughing through the day - only to return home DRAINED and sitting around, alone and in silence, until bed. Finding ways to weigh down your pain.

This is called high functioning depression and it's often overlooked because it hides behind productivity and a well maintained appearance.

Just because someone looks "fine" doesn't mean they aren't terribly struggling inside.

Your exhaustion is valid. Depression isn't just sadness, it's a complex condition that can come about and show itself as irritability, numbness, fatigue, or emotional detachment ....

You don't have to reach a breaking point to talk to someone or get help. You deserve support even if no one has noticed that you are struggling.
