We are one week in on HomeAid Inland Empire’s annual Diaper Drive and we're going through Thursday, April 30th! The Diaper Drive is a community-based donation drive aimed at collecting, wipes, and other essentials for the many families with babies and toddlers that are experiencing homelessness in our community. In 2025, thanks to our fantastic donors, we collected over 150,000 essential items (diapers, wipes, and baby food). Our goal in 2026 is 200,000 items! How can you help?
The easiest way is by simply scanning the QR Code on the flyer with your phone or visiting the Diaper Drive page on our website at https://www.homeaidie.org/events/essentials-diaper-drive. There you can make a financial contribution by clicking on the “Donate to the Diaper Drive” button which will allow us to purchase essentials in bulk at a significant discount from retail prices.
Also, if you'd prefer purchasing items yourself, you can drop them off here at our office, located at Tailored Space: 3600 Lime St., Building 2, Riverside, 92501.
You can also take them to any of the 23 Altura Credit Union Branches in Riverside County as they have partnered with us once again this year. For a list of branches, go to: https://www.alturacu.com/locations

What used to be a single-family home across the street from a hospital is now a place of healing and hope.
On Friday, February 27, HomeAid Inland Empire joined with Operation Grace to celebrate the dedication of "Marian’s House of Healing" in San Bernardino.
This home—once a single-family residence located directly across the street from Dignity Health Community Hospital and its emergency room—has been fully renovated and transformed into a six-bed transitional home where seniors experiencing homelessness can rest, recover, and begin rebuilding their lives.
This project took years of planning and collaboration. It is a testament to what can happen when dedicated people come together with a shared purpose—meaningful change becomes possible. We couldn’t have done this without the support of many community partners, builders, and trades.
A special thank-you goes out to Lennar Inland Empire, who stepped up to take on the project with Builder Captain Bill Jenike, along with the hard work and dedication of Construction Managers Jeremy Jenike and Paige Sarabia. The banner pictured here recognizes the many trade partners who also contributed to making this project a reality.
This is yet another powerful example of HomeAid Inland Empire’s mission to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education.

A message from our Board President, Jonathan Freeman:
Back on January 22, I joined our Executive Director, Matt Friedlander, along with other volunteers across our region for the annual Point-In-Time Count (PITC), heading out before dawn to help count and connect with people experiencing homelessness. While required by HUD, the PITC is about more than numbers—it’s about meeting people face to face, listening to their stories, and ensuring resources go where they’re needed most.
This was my 4th year volunteering, with past counts in Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Redlands, and this year, Upland. Our assigned area was mostly residential, and we didn’t encounter anyone experiencing homelessness. In the big picture, that’s good news. While I didn’t have direct interactions this year, many other teams did—and helped give people a voice.
The next PITC will be in January 2027. I encourage you to consider volunteering. It’s a small commitment that makes a real impact in our communities.

A big HomeAid Inland Empire thank you to William Gordon and SoCalGas for their generosity!
They recently donated two practically new Whirlpool gas ranges to HomeAid Inland Empire. These units were previously used at SoCalGas’ Energy Efficiency Testing Lab at the Energy Resource Center in Downey solely for energy efficiency rating purposes—so they’ve seen very little use.
Our Executive Director, Matt Friedlander picked up the ranges last Friday and delivered them to two of our nonprofit partners: Inland Valley Hope Partners in Pomona and Mission Hope in Temecula. We were thrilled to help these partners upgrade their kitchen spaces!
A heartfelt thank you again to William Gordon and our friends at SoCalGas. We truly appreciate the support and look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership well into the future!
