In June 2022, officers Ptl. Griffin and Sgt. Perinho responded to a medical call for a resident suffering from a possible stroke. Upon arrival, officers located Mrs. Boyce who was in fact exhibiting signs of a stroke and in distress. Both officers were able to assist her and keep her calm until EMS personnel arrived and transported her to a nearby hospital where she was diagnosed with a life-threatening stroke. Thankfully, Mrs. Boyce was able to make a recovery. In honor of National Stroke Awareness Month, Mrs. Boyce came into the station to present both officers with red ribbons signifying stroke awareness as gratitude to them for their quick and compassionate response.
