Had a fun day with the kiddos. We have been going crazy in the house!. I am finally able to walk without my cane. My stitches haven't fully healed yet but we getting there.

4 generations my family has lived here. My grandfather would call it our barrio, our town, our tribe. I have seen both the beauty and the horror of this community. Growing up here you had to be tough, sometimes a little too much. I had friends I would play in the street with...just for us to hit middle school and go on different paths. So many artists,, musicians, scientists, and many more talents that were lost due to gang violence and drug abuse. A community formed trying to survive the white man when we only had eachother. It will always be a love hate relationship for me. Overall. This place is where I started my roots, and will always have a place in my heart.
