With America’s 250th anniversary on the horizon, this Fourth of July is expected to bring big celebrations. As you enjoy the holiday, don't forget that fireworks and public lands do not mix.

Fireworks are dangerous and unpredictable. A single spark can ignite a wildfire that spreads quickly, damaging vegetation, wildlife habitat, infrastructure, and private property. Individuals may also be held liable for suppression costs and damages.

They're also illegal! Year-round on Colorado public lands, visitors may not:
❌ Possess, discharge, or use any type of fireworks
❌ Discharge fi****ms using incendiary or tracer ammunition
❌ Burn or ignite tires, wire, magnesium, or any other hazardous or explosive materials

Help keep things safe and legal this Fourth of July. Happy Independence Day!
