🚨 BREAKING: Children are in crisis after two back-to-back catastrophic earthquakes struck Venezuela yesterday evening, plummeting the country into chaos. The second, a 7.5-magnitude quake, is their strongest on record.

As search and rescue missions continue, the death toll is mounting—now at 164 and expected to rise quickly. Children and families who remain are grappling with the loss of homes, family members and the infrastructure they depend on for survival, including electricity, water and telecommunications systems.

No child should have to live through a disaster of this magnitude, but with your support, we can ensure children and families have what they need to survive and rebuild. Our partners are taking action to assess the situation and respond to children’s most urgent needs. Help now with a gift to our Emergency Action Fund ➡️ https://www.childfund.org/emergency/venezuela_earthquakes

What's one memory with your dad you'll never forget?

In Kenya, these fathers in our Nurturing Care project are making memories of their own as they learn just how rewarding it is to be deeply immersed in their children's lives: playing, learning and growing along with them.

Happy Father's Day to the superhero dads of the world!🦸🏽Your love and support means so much more than you know.

We talk a lot about how to help families who are actively fleeing violent conflict. Less is said about the families who eventually return home to rebuild—and what that experience is like for children.

When the Tigray war in northern Ethiopia ended in 2022, it left health, food security and education infrastructure in ruins — literally. “When I came back to school,” says Mikyas, 11, “what I saw broke my heart. Our classrooms, the walls, the roofs and blackboards were all damaged.”

ChildFund’s Protection and Education in Emergency and Recovery (PEER) project in one war-torn community in the country’s Amhara Region helped restore access to education for children, creating safe learning environments while also helping them strengthen their resilience and self-protection skills.

The result? In addition to meaningfully increasing school attendance, the project also doubled the number of students reporting that they enjoyed school, and the proportion of teachers who reported their schools to be safe and inclusive for all children increased by 50%.

When violence tears communities apart, education is how you rebuild.

Come with us to see how we partnered with P&G to bring clean water to one community in Senegal! 👏🏽

Mariétou and her friends used to struggle with stomach issues from drinking contaminated water. P&G and ChildFund helped install a solar pump and UVC filtration system at their existing water point, which now uses energy from the sun to pump clean, fresh water to the entire neighborhood. That's the power of partnership. And with your support, we're bringing the same to more communities like Mariétou's!

Every child in Africa and beyond has the right to water, sanitation and hygiene. đź’Ż
