New Life Movement envisions a world where every young person is equipped with the tools needed to build and sustain a healthy, meaningful life despite the social, academic, and professional barriers created by systemic poverty and intergenerational trauma. We imagine Richmond being strengthened by new generations of youth and young adults who are inspired to give back to their community as role models, advocates, entrepreneurs, and leaders, and who are able to effectively articulate and implement solutions to challenges in the community both through their lived experiences and knowledge gained through our various youth development programs. New Life Movement programs allow for youth to work with one another on project-based activities in safe spaces and as a result, help to reduce truancy, change negative behavior patterns, and soften tensions between so-called rival factors.
