Waded the Upper James this afternoon for a quick hour-and-a-half session.

The first 30 minutes were all about testing the waters and playing around with some new soft plastics. But once we switched back to the tried-and-true classics? It was absolutely lights out. 🔨

We dropped the hammer and went on a tear, landing 15 smallmouth and 3 bluegill in our final hour before heading inside to cool off.

Proof that knowing exactly what the fish want (and when to switch it up) makes all the difference!
