How is sugar attacking your body?
Sugar affects the body in several ways—some immediate, others long-term—and the impact depends on the type (natural vs. added sugar), the amount consumed, and how often. Here's a breakdown of how excessive sugar consumption can "attack" the body:
🔄 1. Spikes Blood Sugar and Insulin
Effect: Eating sugar, especially refined or added sugar, causes a rapid spike in blood glucose.
Body’s response: The pancreas releases insulin to help cells absorb that sugar.
Problem: Over time, frequent spikes can lead to insulin resistance, a major factor in type 2 diabetes.

Sugar triggers the release of dopamine, the “feel-good” chemical.
Problem: Like addictive substances, this can create a cycle of craving and overconsumption.
