I always like to remind my students that everyone has a different journey in Jiu-Jitsu. For some, it’s a straight path, for others (like mine), it’s a lot more winding, but still fulfilling.

I wanted to share the journey of one of our blue belts, Ashton.

When Ashton started Jiu-Jitsu at Ruffhouse, he was over 300 pounds. Through sheer determination and consistency, he’s lost over 150 pounds.

But more importantly, he changed his life.

I truly believe Jiu-Jitsu saved his life.

This is a powerful story and an example for anyone thinking about starting or struggling to keep going.
