These 4 Seniors are signing off! Last time in a Cedarcrest uniform. 🥹
In a win-or-go-home district playoff battle, Cedarcrest and Renton delivered a gritty, defensive showdown that came down to the final possessions. Despite a fierce fourth‑quarter push, Cedarcrest fell just short, dropping a 41–39 heartbreaker that ended the Red Wolves’ season.
First Half
Renton opened strong, using early second‑chance opportunities and timely threes to build a 12–6 lead after one. Cedarcrest found its rhythm in the second quarter behind aggressive rebounding and steady defensive stops, clawing back to trail just 22–16 at halftime.
Cedarcrest Highlights
Kiki Anderson powered the Red Wolves offensively, scoring a game‑high 13 points while grabbing 8 rebounds and battling through constant defensive pressure.
Avery Dice anchored the paint with an impressive 15 rebounds, adding 3 points and a steal in a strong all-around effort.
Stella Metcalf contributed across the board with 5 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and a game‑high 6 steals, showcasing relentless effort on both ends.
Maddie Davis added 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Willow Ash chipped in 7 points including a key three-pointer that fueled Cedarcrest’s late run.
Off the bench, Emma Plecher provided a perfect shooting night, scoring 5 points on 2‑for‑2 from the field.
Cedarcrest dominated the glass with 48 total rebounds, including 23 offensive boards, creating numerous second‑chance opportunities.
Second Half & Final Minutes
The Red Wolves surged after halftime, outscoring Renton 23–19 over the final two quarters. Cedarcrest held Renton to just 10 points in the fourth, giving themselves multiple chances to tie or take the lead.
With under a minute left, Cedarcrest cut the deficit to two on a put-back bucket. A defensive stop gave them the ball back, but the final possession ended in a contested miss as time expired.
Despite the loss, Cedarcrest battled with heart, effort, and toughness—embodying the resilience that defined their season. The Red Wolves finish their year with pride, having fought to the final whistle in one of the most intense games of the district tournament.
