Training with purpose – Building Thoughtful, Connected Dogs 🐾

Over the years my training has evolved a lot. What started as simply teaching behaviors has turned into something much deeper — building clarity, connection, and understanding between dog and handler.

I’ve spent years developing a training approach that focuses on:
• Clear communication between dog and handler
• Thoughtful skill progression
• Building drive and engagement without chaos
• Creating dogs that understand how to learn, not just what to do

From that work I’ve developed several structured training programs including:

✨ Communications Foundation – Teaching puppies and young dogs how to understand markers, reward systems, engagement, and learning mechanics.

✨ Foundations 1 & 2 – Building the essential skills that support everything from agility to rally to everyday partnership.

✨ Rally Fundamentals – Breaking down rally skills so teams gain precision, confidence, and flow in the ring.

✨ Skill-Based Workshops – Focused sessions on handling skills, different types of common sequence, commitment, distance, and other sport-specific concepts.

To make it easier to organize everything and for students to access training material anytime, I’ve moved my programs onto a Skool platform.

Proud Trainer Moment ❤️🐾

Ready 2 Run hosted the last agility trial of the year for our area at beautiful Corley Ranch in Gardnerville. Huge thanks to Ready 2 Run Agility Club for putting on such a great event, and to judge Danial Edwards for being so supportive all weekend!

Several of my students attended — some all three days, others just one or two — and I was lucky enough to be there on Saturday. Everyone did so well, but what made me most proud wasn’t just the runs or the Qs…it was the help, encouragement, and friendship they showed each other. 💕

Dog sports can be hard to break into, and this message that came through our group chat honestly made me tear up:

“We are the lucky ones to have leadership from someone who wants what is best for our dogs and us. Non-judgmental and so supportive. It’s not just about agility. It’s about how we move with confidence and love for our dogs.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself. I’m so very proud of each and every one of you — for how you train, how you support one another, and how you show up for your dogs.

Special shoutout to Marlene and Q for their first competition run together — and they absolutely rocked it! 🎉

Workshop topic for November is 180's. Turn into you, turn away from you. Jump to jump, tunnel to tunnel, From the outside where you can't cross, and coming into you. Basically switch, swing, diga diga. Adding in distance to proof for more advanced handlers. First and Third weekend of November.

Fun Match/ Photo op 10-18-2025 and 10-19-2025
