Crystal tries the Katalyst suit for her second time.. Her soreness lasted over a week, and was mainly noticeable in her glutes and arms. This is a point that is important... Katalyst works on muscle imbalance as a great side effect. If her triceps are weaker than her biceps, then her triceps get worked out harder. A user can't ignore their lower back because it's no fun to work out.. She's fully hooked on the suit at this point :)

This video discusses how muscles work, the principles behind muscle contraction, the role of electrical currents from nerves in muscle activation, and the efficiency of muscle recruitment by the brain. It also delves into the concept of Mind Muscle Control (MMC) and the potential for improvement through technologies like the Katalyst EMS suit. The video further explores the technical aspects of muscle activation, the differences between EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) and traditional weightlifting, and the potential benefits of EMS in terms of neural pathway development.

The video emphasizes that muscles contract in response to electrical signals from nerves, and the brain recruits only the necessary muscle fibers to complete a task efficiently, preserving energy for survival. It highlights that exercises like bicep curls to recruit muscle fibers progressively, starting with slow-twitch and then fast-twitch fibers. It suggests that multiple sets and reps are required to target all areas of a muscle group.

The role of the motor cortex and Upper Motor Neurons in muscle activation is explained. The concept of Mind Muscle Control is introduced as a bottleneck in muscle recruitment, which can potentially be improved through the use of the Katalyst EMS suit.

The video also delves into the technical workings of EMS, explaining how the Katalyst suit's pads activate motor neurons directly, bypassing the brain's energy-efficient muscle recruitment. EMS is said to activate up to 90% of muscle fibers, as opposed to 40-50% during traditional gym workouts. The potential for muscle damage from overexertion is mentioned, emphasizing the need for gradual progression.

EMS is described as a means to stimulate muscle growth, improve neural pathways, and enhance coordination. The video suggests that EMS has been widely used in muscle rehab. Different frequencies are mentioned, which can target slow-twitch and fast-twitch muscle fibers for endurance and strength gains.

I include below various studies that support the effectiveness of EMS in increasing muscle growth, endurance, strength, explosive power, fat loss, VO2 max, and pain relief. These studies cover a wide age range, from teenagers to individuals in their 80s.

In summary, the video provides insights into the functioning of muscles, the principles of muscle recruitment, the role of EMS, and its potential benefits as supported by scientific studies. It underscores the potential of EMS technologies like the Katalyst suit to enhance muscle development and overall fitness.

Here's a link to the studies I referenced in the video, as well as others. Over 100 studies on the benefits of EMS
