Let’s talk about positional commands. Sit, down and place are really common positional commands. I don’t think the positions are important at all. However, when showing up to a clients home in which the dog has behavioral issues I see a pattern. The pattern is that these dogs are also terrible at positional commands. Furthermore the people struggle to connect with the dogs and motivate them to do these commands with precision joy and confidence. So, the position itself is unimportant but the relationship building opportunities that we can manifest when working on some of these positional commands is extremely important. We need to connect the dots and see the bigger picture. Work on these positional commands and see what your dog is telling you about your relationship, your ability to communicate, and your ability to troubleshoot. Also remember to have fun! 🙏🐾🐶❤️
