Most men never ask why.

They just try harder to stop.

I did that for decades.

Until eight days ago when I stopped trying to fix the behavior and started asking what it was protecting.

What I found changed everything.

It wasn’t weakness. It wasn’t depravity. It wasn’t a character flaw.

It was pain that had never been witnessed. Frustration that had never been heard.

A longing for real intimacy that had been fed the wrong thing for so long it forgot what real felt like.

The healing didn’t start when I got stronger.

It started when I got honest.
