It is with profound sadness that the PatRick Fire family mourns the passing of Randy Teel, Strike Team Leader—a respected mentor, dedicated educator, and exceptional leader.
After a courageous battle with health issues, Randy leaves behind a remarkable legacy of 26 years of service at PatRick and an immeasurable impact on the fire service through his leadership, guidance, and inspiration. His dedication touched countless lives, and his memory will continue to live on in all those who had the privilege of knowing and learning from him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Randy's family, friends, and all who loved him during this difficult time.
We will miss you, brother. Rest in peace.

Wildland firefighting is physically demanding and dangerous. That's why our crews undergo comprehensive First Aid training before they ever step out on the fire line.

Our training includes assessment and first aid treatment of the following:

✅ Severe life threatening bleeding or shock
✅ Minor wounds
✅ Tooth injuries, nose bleeds
✅ Impaled objects
✅ Eye injuries (impaled), amputation, internal bleeding, open chest wound, open abdominal injury
✅ Head, neck, and spinal injury
✅ Concussion
✅ Bone, joint, & muscle injuries
✅ Burns
✅ Altered mental status
✅ Poisoning
✅ Difficulty breathing, asthma, relief of choking (adult), severe allergic reaction
✅ Heart attack, stroke, seizure
✅ Diabetes & hypoglycemia, presyncope & syncope (light headed and fainting)
✅ Heat emergencies like cramps, heat exhaustion, or heat stroke
✅ Cold emergencies like frost bite or hypothermia
✅ Bites and stings (insects, snakes, spiders, ticks, marine, stingray, animal, human)
