Let's dive into the captivating history of Polaroid! 📷✨ Founded in 1937 by Edwin H. Land, this well-beloved brand brought instant photography to life with the eponymous Land camera, a decade after its inception. The original design tasked the user with releasing the film manually by pulling a tab and peeling the negative from the finished positive print. It wasn't until the 70s that the prints began ejecting from the camera automatically!

Land ran the company until 1981 – leaving well before the Polaroid Corporation declared bankruptcy in 2001. Its brand and assets were then sold off. Years later, a new Polaroid company formed, and the brand assets changed hands a few times before being sold to Polish billionaire Wiaczesław Smołokowski in 2017. This deal allowed a small competitor brand called Impossible Project to rebrand as Polaroid Originals in 2017, and eventually as Polaroid in 2020. The brand is now popular in ways that many thought impossible! 😉

In an era where it's becoming more popular to print images and shoot film again, we're happy to see legacy brands like Polaroid being brought back to life. 🎞️

It all started with a simple question, “Why couldn’t it be a Robot?”

In 2011 the late Jennifer Guzman – co-founder and creator behind Foto Robot – asked that same question during a strategy meeting. Her vision was to create an interactive, full service photo booth with personality. No more boring ipad stands or stuffy old booths! And with that, our white board musings became something entirely new – Foto Robot.

With the novelty, technical skill and customizations for any client, our group of nine photo booths has held us steady for the last decade and more. We can’t wait to see where the next year takes us!
Though Jenny is no longer with us, we continue her mission to expand Foto Robot and to capture the joy of human connection. Without her, we wouldn’t exist. May her legacy live on through her incredible ideas!

Airbus Robotics celebrated the final days of summer by treating their hard-working employees to an annual picnic at the Mukilteo Baseball Fields back in August! ☀️ There was fun for all ages with a bouncy house, lawn games, trivia & raffles. Employees were encouraged to bring the whole family – which included pups! 🐶 And of course, our guy Foto Robot was onsite to capture the best moments! Rain or shine, indoor or outdoor, we've got it covered 😎
