Sgt. Stubby was a Connecticut stray dog turned WWI hero. He is credited with saving many lives and was also a morale booster for the men and women serving our country during a very difficult war. He was the first dog ever promoted to sergeant in the U.S. Army!
Serving with the 102nd Infantry, Sergeant Stubby is still remembered as one of the most decorated war dogs in U.S. history. Thank you for your service Stubby and thank you to all who served as we honor you on this Memorial Day.

☀️🐾 HOT WEATHER SAFETY FOR DOGS 🐾☀️
As temperatures rise, our dogs depend on us to keep them safe. Even a few minutes in extreme heat can quickly become dangerous — and even deadly.
🚫 Never leave your dog in the carA parked car can reach deadly temperatures within minutes, even on a mild day.
🌱 Walk smartChoose grass over hot asphalt, keep walks short, and bring plenty of water.
🏠 When in doubt, leave them homeYour pup will always be safer and cooler relaxing indoors.
⚠️ Know the signs of heatstroke:Excessive panting, bright red tongue, vomiting, diarrhea, discolored gums, weakness, or trouble walking. If you notice these signs, contact a veterinarian immediately.
📢 See something? Say something. If you see a dog left in a hot car or in distress, call local animal control or police right away. In Connecticut, there are legal protections for helping dogs in immediate danger.
Please help us spread the word and share this post.Together we can keep dogs safe, cool, and protected this summer. ❤️🐶
