new machine called an optomap they used it and saw the pigmentation on my retina and i was sent to a specialist where i was told i had RP. Due to the RP I have tunnel vision and am colorblind since losing a big chunk of vision at once I was told that is the reason I have double vision aswell.But I don’t want that stopping me from doing what i want to do I'm currently working on a book about my journey with RP. Retinitis Pigmentosa also known as RP is the degeneration of the rod and cone cells that make up the retina and interpret light.As the cells die so does the ability to filter light. Which causes many problems with vision. Loss of peripheral,night and color vision.In severe cases complete blindness can occur. The reasons I created this page is to raise awareness about RP and to raise money for research and for people who are visually impaired either by RP or by other eye diseases and don't have the visual aids to help with daily living.
