While they do this they’ll have the pleasure of enjoying publicly displayed art which has shown to improve positive mental attitudes and inspire others to do beneficial work in the community. We are looking at the city as our canvas to create beauty and economic empowerment with your help in the community which we live in. The city of Reading was listed as the nation’s poorest city. Frustrated with all the hype dreams of many community leaders and those who put their trust in a few politicians who make promises but never fulfill them we decided to do something about it. There was a call for action, and the three of us stepped up to the plate and formed a plan that would start this transformation. Our first step is to identify the eye sores and decrepit areas in desperate need of a face lift. The city has an onslaught of rundown homes and vacant properties left to rodents, criminal activities, and other annoying pests. This becomes an issue with city code violations and law enforcement, not to mention the overall ugly look. Step two is to design plans to rehabilitate the vacant properties, vacant lots, and land left for weeds, overgrowth, and trash. Publicly displayed art and gardens will be very helpful in this endeavor. Finally step three is to acquire funding and sponsorship. Through the help and cooperation with many partners we’ll able to get the resources needed to fund this worthwhile and much needed projects.
