Note: Air Quality readings in Cleveland are already “Very Unhealthy” and Medina county’s monitor is in the “Unhealthy” range. The levels are expected to increase statewide throughout today.

Thursday & Friday July 16-17th: Air Quality Advisory

Air Quality in one or more of the following counties may reach as high as HAZARDOUS levels due to fine particulate matter: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit.

This event could greatly impact all citizens. Outdoor activities should be undertaken with caution.

Please help reduce additional air pollution by:
- reducing vehicle use (consider carpooling or using public transportation)
- avoid ALL open burning
- refuel vehicles after sunset
- give fuel burning lawn care equipment the day off

Smoke from the wildfires will reduce visibility during the morning commute and through the day. Visibility can vary, but could drop down to less than a mile at times. Smoke will spread southward resulting in widespread poor air quality and visibility.
