The storm that nearly stopped him…
became the moment God saved him.

Before Charles Spurgeon preached to thousands,
he was a miserable 15-year-old boy
wandering through the streets of Colchester
in a blinding snowstorm.

His soul was heavy.
He had searched church after church for peace—
and found none.

Then the snow became so fierce
he ducked into a tiny Primitive Methodist chapel
simply because he could not walk any farther.

The preacher never arrived.

A thin, unpolished layman stepped up instead.
No eloquence. No polish. No platform.

He opened to Isaiah 45:22:

“Look unto Me, and be ye saved…”

Then he pointed straight at young Spurgeon
and said:

“Young man, you look very miserable…
and you will remain miserable
until you obey this text.”

Then he shouted:

“Look to Christ!”

Spurgeon later said in that moment
he saw the way of salvation clearly
for the first time in his life.

The storm that looked like interruption
was actually mercy.

What nearly stopped him
was the very thing God used
to bring him to Christ.

We beg God to remove the storm.
Sometimes the storm is what drives us to Him.
