Hart Ranch Golf Club

Less than 24 hours after the final putt dropped to win the South Dakota State Amateur Championship, Kaitlin Strain was right back to work.

Early Monday morning, Kaitlin was on the practice tee at Hart Ranch Golf Club with her golf professional, Dustin Lecy.

This is what champions do.

At just 7 years old, Kaitlin began her golf journey through the Hart Ranch Junior Golf programs and started working with Dustin. More than 10 years later, as she prepares to enter her junior year of high school, that same student-teacher partnership continues today.

Over the years, Dustin has helped guide and develop Kaitlin's game through every stage of her journey—from junior golf and youth tournaments to high school competitions and now state-level championship golf.

Her accomplishments continue to grow:

🏅 High School State A Champion
🏅 Multiple top finishes and victories throughout her career

While the trophy and title are impressive, what stands out most is what happened the very next morning, after winning the Am.

There was no extended celebration. No time off.

Just another practice session. Another opportunity to improve. Another day of work alongside the coach who has been there from the beginning

Champions aren't made on championship Sunday. They're built through years of hard work long before the final putt falls.
