I saw on the news that families were having a difficult time communicating with loved ones in assisted living and medical centers. I considered what it must be like for them and figuratively walked a mile in their shoes. I imagined the pain that isolation would cause being cut off from physical visits. I remembered a video teleconferencing system that we built for a client last year and realized that it could be re-engineered for medical care. We have a solution and have built a mobile medical video teleconferencing platform that is height adjustable, easy to maneuver, comes pre-loaded with all major VTC platforms and can be sterilized between clients to prevent cross-contamination with the included UV-C sterilization wand. By definition this is not a piece of medical equipment but a communications platform that can be kept sterile and operated in a closed environment while applying HIPAA standards. Let's face it, the COVID19 crisis for the majority of us will be coming to an end soon, but for those in care facilities the situation may be ongoing--perhaps permanent.
