If you ask most professional musicians what their goal is, it’s usually something along the lines of “I want to travel the world and share my music to thousands of fans” or “I want to perform at [insert venue]” or “I want to pay my bills making music.”

And if you would’ve asked me the same thing 5 years ago, my answer might have been similar.

But it was always a lie. When I closed my eyes at night, I didn’t see an arena of screaming fans, or see myself performing at the Grammys.

I didn’t see anything at all—I could hear it.

Music.

Complete songs. Fully written.

I’ve realized that I am obsessed with creating music with as many people as possible. I am obsessed with creating and building my discography. It’s the closest thing to immortality for me. The songs that exist in my mind and in my heart will live on forever if I record them and write them down. My ultimate goal is to be a strictly studio musician who records my songs and on everyone’s songs.

(This next part is basically career s*icide 😂)

but my dream is to ONLY create music.

No shows.
No label telling me what to do or sell.
No manager giving me idiotic advice.
No club promoters bullsh*tting me.
No gatekeeping venue owners shorting me on ticket sales.
No soundcheck.
No social media presence.
No fan interactions.
No band drama.
No load in.
No load out.

Just. Music.

Does anything else even matter???

I want nothing to do with the music industry, because the music industry has very little to do with music.
