Discover what makes the Capital District a downtown destination! ๐ ๐๏ธ
Starting tomorrow, June 19th, DRA will shine a spotlight on the Capital District as part of Downtown Destinations: a celebration of Downtown Raleighโs 6 distinct districts and what makes each one unique.
The Capital District is the civic heart of North Carolina, where government, history, culture, and greenspace come together in one of Downtown Raleighโs most recognizable neighborhoods. Anchored by the historic NC State Capitol and NC Legislative Building, the district serves as the center of state government while offering museums, galleries, theaters, public parks, restaurants, and inviting outdoor spaces. Its peaceful atmosphere makes it a favorite for lunch breaks, afternoon strolls, and exploring a quieter side of downtown.
Over the next 2 weeks, DRA and friends will share must-try guides, business features, and pro-tips for experiencing everything this neighborhood has to offer. Then get ready for July 3rd because the celebration wraps up with a Downtown Raleigh Gift Card scavenger hunt throughout the district and the Capitol 250 NC Freedom Fest the very next day.
