July 12–18 is Operation Safe Driver Week, a nationwide initiative focused on promoting safer driving habits and reducing crashes on our roadways.

This year's focus is reckless, careless, and dangerous driving. Common violations include speeding, distracted driving, following too closely, unsafe lane changes, impaired driving, and failure to wear a seatbelt.

Whether you're driving for work, running errands, or heading out on a summer road trip, take a moment to slow down, stay alert, and make safety your top priority.

Every trip matters. Every decision matters. Let's work together to keep our roads safer for everyone.

Hot days mean more time outside - but heat-related illness can sneak up fast. Adults 65+, kids, infants, people with chronic conditions or I/DD, and anyone working outdoors or without AC are at a higher risk of:

☀️ Sunburn - Red, painful skin. Prevent with sunscreen + avoiding 10 AM – 4M PM sun.

🌡️ Heat Rash - Small red bumps from trapped sweat. Keep skin dry and cool; skip the ointments.

🤒 Heat Cramps - Painful muscle spasms from fluid/salt loss. Rest, cool down, sip water slowly. Lasting 1+ hour? Seek care.

💤 Heat Exhaustion - Heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, weakness. Cool the person down, hydrate, remove excess clothing, and get medical help.

🚨 Heat Stroke - Confusion, hot/dry skin, seizures, loss of consciousness. Call 911 immediately. Cool with ice/cold water while waiting for help.

You can avoid these illnesses by:
💧 Staying hydrated.
🧴 Reapplying sunscreen.
📲 Checking in on vulnerable loved ones - indoors and out.

A little shade, some water breaks, and knowing the warning signs go a long way. 💙
