Rural municipalities in North Carolina will have greater access to accounting services and expert guidance after a $500,000 contribution by SECU Foundation to the NC League of Municipalities.

SECU Foundation is helping open doors to higher education through its People Helping People® high school scholarships. Each scholarship provides up to $10,000, paid over four years, to help cover university costs for eligible high school seniors. Interested in applying? Volunteers from SECU Foundation and State Employees’ Credit Union recently spent a day working at Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina, reflecting SECU Foundation’s commitment to expanding food access for North Carolinians.

At the volunteer day, nearly 450 hygiene boxes were packed for community members in need. Second Harvest of Southeast NC is a Feeding the Carolinas partner food bank in Fayetteville, providing relief across seven counties, and received support from SECU Foundation’s recent $500,000 grant to Feeding the Carolinas.

SECU Foundation is pleased to award Randolph Family Crisis Center (RCFCC) a $40,000 Mission Development Grant for strategic planning to support their work for victim advocacy.

Created in 1978, RCFCC serves and provides resources for people who are in crisis from domestic and sexual trauma. The non-profit operates Randolph County’s only child advocacy center.

SECU Foundation is delighted to award Safe Spot Child Advocacy Center (Safe Spot) and Heart of Horse Sense $40,000 Mission Development Grants to assist with strategic planning and long-term sustainability.

Safe Spot, located in Wilkes County, provides comprehensive support services to child victims and nonoffending caregivers who are affected by abuse.

Heart of Horse Sense in Madison County provides equine-assisted services for survivors of trauma, including active-duty military, veterans, first responders, at-risk youth, and their families.
