Picked up this 2021 Specialized Diverge Base E5 gravel bike for $300 yesterday. Decided to take it on a real trial run to get it set up for me.
Rode out to Bender Park in Oak Creek. Ride out went well, made some adjustments to dial in the bike. Learned a few things about it that I want to change. Really want to find a good used Shimano GRX groupset and I need to get rid of these mechanical disc brakes. I also need some gravel shoes and SPD pedals, because flat pedals aint it!
Obvipusly I hit a headwind the entire way home which was not pleasant. I should have brought more nutrition and some electrolytes with me for this one.

Today's morning ride around Racine's lakefront. Pushed hard the first 25 minutes, then cooled off and clocked in some extra miles. Construction hindered my plans multiple times on top of slowing down my average speed. All in all it was an enjoyable ride!

Human Side of Motorsports Group Ride #3
, , and I left a bit later than I originally planned for. We started south towards Petrifying Springs Recreational Area, at which point I asked if they wanted to continue on or begin turning back. They said keep going, so thats what we did!
We stopped at the Washington Bowl Velodrome on our way to the Kenosha Harbor! All was well until that late start bit us in the a$$! Wind speeds kicked up from 10-15mph to 20-30mph. Thankfully I planned the route to keep head wind to a minimum. Sadly though the last 4 miles of the 32 mile ride was all headwind! We managed to finish the ride and some of us pushed our physical limitations during the ride!
Brick by brick we will continue to better ourselves!

Out to visit Randy @ Pro Automotive Machine in Elgin, IL. Showing him the block and crank that we are working with to get LIL RED up and running for next weekend. Hes going to give the cylinders a hone and get the crankshaft to be usable, although he does suggest eventually finding a replacement.

Rode down to "PETS" solo to stay consistent. Stopped to see my friend John at Trek Bicycle Store of Racine, haven't seen him in years. We caught up and ran me through some options of bike upgrades for the future. Looking for a bike that can be more of an all rounder vs just a road racing only machine. All in all, the hardest ride if the year for me thus far.
Down to 300.4lbs from 316.2lbs. A lot more to come off as the weather starts to get better and better! Especially when I get to enjoy the rides with my friends!
