Goldie and I are overjoyed to share the beautiful news of the birth of our first granddaughter, Willow Grace Russell. Little Willow entered our lives on March 2, filling our hearts with a kind of love that words can hardly describe and bringing a renewed sense of gratitude to our entire family.
There is something truly special about welcoming a new generation—something that makes time feel both still and deeply meaningful. Holding her for the first time, we were reminded of how precious these moments are, how quickly life moves, and how important it is to cherish every second.
We couldn’t be prouder of her parents, our son Wyatt and his wife, as they step into this incredible new chapter of their lives. Watching them embrace parenthood with so much care, strength, and love has been one of the most beautiful experiences we’ve ever known. It’s a joy beyond words to see the values of family, compassion, and resilience continue on through them.
Willow has already brought so much light into our lives. Every tiny smile, every quiet moment spent holding her, feels like a gift we will carry forever. Our hearts are full, our home feels warmer, and our family feels even more complete.
With all our love,

An 8-year-old boy noticed what every adult in the restaurant missed — and it changed a family's life forever.
Every weekend, Kayzen Hunter and his family walked into their local Waffle House in Little Rock, Arkansas, and headed straight for the same section. Not because of the booth. Not because of the location.
Because of Devonte.
Devonte Gardner was the waiter who welcomed Kayzen with a high five every single visit. He already knew the boy's favorite order by heart — scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns covered in cheese, no toast, and an Arnold Palmer. He always had a joke ready and a smile that could brighten an entire room.
For nearly a year, the Hunter family sat in Devonte's section every weekend. Over time, they learned about his wife, Aissa, and his two young daughters, Jade and Amoura. They saw a hardworking man who genuinely enjoyed making people feel at home.
What they didn't see was the struggle waiting for him after work.
The apartment where his family lived had become overrun with black mold and rats. His daughters were getting sick, and the situation became impossible to ignore. Forced to leave, the family abandoned most of their belongings because the mold had ruined nearly everything. Their only option was a motel room costing sixty dollars a night.
Every tip Devonte earned went toward keeping a roof over their heads.
The money he had saved for a car disappeared into emergency expenses. Soon, he was walking miles to and from work. Yet every day he showed up with the same positive attitude, never letting customers know how difficult life had become.
Then one afternoon, Kayzen visited the restaurant with his grandfather.
During their conversation, Devonte mentioned he was searching for an affordable car. Curious, Kayzen asked questions. The more he learned, the more concerned he became. By the time he got home, he couldn't stop thinking about it.
He told his mother they had to help.
Kayzen insisted on starting a fundraiser. With his mom's help, a GoFundMe page was created with a goal of just five hundred dollars. In the description, Kayzen wrote that Devonte was one of the kindest people he had ever met and that he hoped others would help spread kindness too.
At first, donations arrived slowly.
Then local news stations shared the story. Soon larger media outlets picked it up, and people across the country began donating.
Within weeks, more than $113,000 had been raised.
Devonte was overwhelmed. The money allowed his family to leave the motel, move into a safe apartment, pay a full year of rent, and purchase a brand-new car. The remaining funds were set aside to help secure a better future for his daughters.
Today, the Hunters still visit every weekend. Kayzen still gets his high five.
But now Devonte's smile carries something extra — relief, hope, and gratitude.
Most people saw a waiter serving breakfast. An eight-year-old boy saw a person in need and decided to help.
Sometimes the biggest hearts come in the smallest people.

Last night, my husband accidentally lost his wallet in a grocery store parking lot. He was really upset because he’s never done this before.
Today, I walked over to our old house (we’re selling it and living somewhere else now) and found his wallet in an envelope.
Someone had found it and taken the time to drive it 15 minutes to make sure it got back to us. All the cash and everything else was still inside.
I called the number they left, but I had to leave a message. We are so grateful for this kind person’s huge act of kindness! 🥰

This teenager was filling up his Mustang when the older gentleman pulled up with his can for the mower and was patiently waiting...
The teenager noticed, pulled the nozzle out and said, "Sir will you please let me see your can?"
He filled it up as the older gentleman objected.
When the kid finished, he put the nozzle back into his car to finish filling up his own.
He refused to take money from the gentleman and wished him a wonderful day.
They are all over this country and they come in all shapes and colors.
It all starts at home with the parents.
Be more than just a buddy. Be a teaching parent.
The lesson for all is the point here
Not when it happened or where Is does happen and should happen more
Be clear on the moral

Last year, my friend was repairing the heating system of an old church. Many stray cats lived inside, and one kitten greeted him every morning and stayed close by while he worked. He shared his lunch with her, and I started sending him cat food every day.
When the new owners announced they were taking the cats to the shelter, I told them to bring them home. I met her at the vet a year ago, and we took her in. We named her Clara, after the church. It took months for her to trust us, but now she shares our bed, lives peacefully with our two dogs, and fills our days with laughter.
