RIP Nick’s Piano Bar at the Footlight Underground @ The Windjammer bar.

Thank you for those that came out! And I’m sorry for those who came to last show, and planned to make it out for April 1. Unfortunately that show, and all shows in regards to Nick’s Piano Bar at the Footlight at Windjammer Bar.

For those that could have come out to a no-cover, early, train and bus accessible piano show and chose to come next time, unfortunately there won’t be a next time at the Footlight (which is why we send out invites messages, reminders, texts). Attendance maintains gigs, and unfortunately the numbers did not outweigh the complaints from various bar regulars who’d rather watch tv.

THIS GOES BACK TO MY STORY from earlier this week, which I may drop as a TikTok/reel. This is why it’s important to SHOW UP, and comment to bar staff. Tell them you love the show, tell them you’d be back next month to see this specific performer. Bar Owners only know what’s attainable and infront of them. Leave reviews on Google and Yelp, post videos from the show to your story, tagging the bar and the performer. You can help maintain freelancing work. Us freelance musicians work too hard to let our work go to the wayside because the success of our work is resting on the silent mouths of patrons trusting that the performers talent is enough to maintain their work. “Of course they’ll be here next month, they’re amazing.”

Unfortunately, for me this week, I’ve had to swallow this harsh pill twice this week. (this is the 2nd gig in 48 hours that “I don’t fit the vibe” regardless of audience turn out, participation, and reception).

Support your local musicians. Follow them, post them to your story, tag them and the venue, leave a review on yelp or google review and MAKE SURE YOU SPECIFY YOU LOVED WHOEVER you are seeing. You could literally secure a musician’s income.

Thank you Footlight, the venue partnered with Windjammer. They’ve been speedy with helping me relocate the show, and I thank them for believing in it.
