Don't Tell Anyone
Seems like you can’t have a conversation these days without someone starting with, “Now, don’t tell anyone,” and then they proceed to tell you some juicy piece of gossip, ending with, “Now, keep this between us, ok?” And of course, the first person you run into hears the whole story, but you’re careful to give the same admonition to “keep it quiet.” Some feel more justified in sharing the forbidden information as long as they “only” tell someone who they are close to and are quite sure would keep their confidence. And then there are others who wouldn’t dream of breaking their word but have no problem giving “hints” so that their most trusted friend can “figure it out,” without them having to actually come right out and verbalize the secret knowledge. But no matter how you rationalize it in your own mind, it won’t make it right in God’s eyes. If you promise not to tell anyone, then God expects you to keep your word. Doing otherwise, quite simply, is a lie, and it is breaking one of the ten commandments found in Exodus 20:16, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” The next time someone says, “Don’t tell anyone,” - stop and ask yourself: “Is this a promise I can keep?” Text: Psalm 34:13, 1 Peter 4:15, Proverbs 12:22, Proverbs 10:20, Psalm 41:12

Spiritual Leaders
God wants you to be a “spiritual leader.” The Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:12, “Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.” How you live your life each day is not only an example to those around you, but a powerful way to lead others to Christ. When you allow the Holy Spirit to dwell within, you can lead by your words and actions. When you forgive, it’s a message to others about the importance of forgiveness. When you treat others with kindness, you are setting an example for how God wants His people to be. The way you live your life can either draw people closer to God or lead them astray. But please know this: being a spiritual leader comes with heavy responsibility. The Bible cautions us in James 3:1, “Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.” Remember this when you are tempted to do things your way instead of God’s way. There is only one way to be a successful leader, and that is to be totally surrendered to Jesus. Without His divine wisdom and direction, you will not only fall, but you will cause others to fall, which you will then have to answer for on judgment day. Go forward in Holy Spirit power and be the leader God wants you to be by claiming His promise in Psalm 32:8, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” Text: Hebrews 13:7, Psalm 37:30–31, Matthew 20:25-26, Proverbs 4:23
